To make your fingers fly and play an unlimited number of licks you need to train your hand to play 6 basic rolls. They are from my 32 basic moves and I use them all the time and have even expanded the above to include my third finger.

The six rolls are:

  • forward starting on the thumb
  • forward starting on the first finger
  • forward starting on second finger
  • backward starting on second finger
  • backward starting on first finger
  • backward starting on thumb

NOTE: If you have trouble playing rolls then you need to back up and learn to use the thumb, first finger, and second finger individually. Then put those moves together to create the rolls. Before you put two rolls together be sure you can play each repeatedly.
